Top Taxpayer Priorities for the 2023 Session of Congress

As the new legislative session of Congress has begun to heat up, the National Taxpayers Union is engaging with key committees on Capitol Hill on the top priorities that taxpayers will be watching out for this year. NTU is outlining the ways that the most important 14 committees can serve taxpayers, with analyses of proposed legislation as well as policies that members of Congress can and should pursue. These include stronger oversight provisions for the $80 billion in new spending apportioned to the Internal Revenue Service, addressing the debt ceiling before a crisis occurs, modernizing the Congressional Budget Office and more. 

NTU has sent our priorities memos to 14 different committees in the House and Senate, and will be engaging with the offices of committee leadership to further taxpayer interests in these vital areas on Capitol Hill.
