National Taxpayers Union (NTU) is honored to announce that Jonathan Slemrod is joining its Board of Directors. Mr. Slemrod is a Partner at Harbinger Strategies, a leading federal government and political affairs firm. NTU is excited to have his talents and expertise in advocating on behalf of the American taxpayer.
Mr. Slemrod served at the highest levels of government in both the executive and legislative branches. His esteemed career includes roles such as Associate Director for Legislative Affairs at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Special Advisor to the Acting Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and positions assisting both Senators and members of the House of Representatives. He later entered the private sector, where his advocacy for his clients resulted in him being named “Top Lobbyist” by The Hill for several consecutive years.

Mr. Slemrod has worked for Majority Whip Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Minority Whip Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ), Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) and, while at OMB, worked across the aisle negotiating government funding and authorizing priorities.
